The Secret Fire

Serpent fire, the most fundamental power. How miraculous and beautiful you are! When we are still bound to the everyday worries of our humane life, you rest coiled in your confined chamber deep in the earth’s center – ”wisely thou waitest, til thy time’s to come”.

But as soon as our hearts start to beat more vehemently, when we dare to cast our sight upwards to the starry firmament above the earth’s sphere, and when we dare to promise to serve Truth and Love and sacred Meaning above all our own interests – then flashes your eye, and the dragon breathes upwards a wave that makes the world blaze as with the colours of million gemstones. The aspirant holds his breath; he feels his hair raising up; he sees around him the immeasurable depth, of which every drop is saturated with that Meaning of whose servant he has given his heart to be. No longer will there be a moment of no importance, not a single one wasted, for the power is in him and in everything he will face.

How deep a happiness! How great a suffering! What an ingeniosity, beyond compare! What a madness! When the bolts have been lifted by work of service, and the door between the small and great world opens, you feel dizzy like you would on the top of the highest mountain, your forehead touching the cold brightness, being full of sweet warmth. My beloved cold Father, who are my spirit and mind! My beloved fiery Mother, who are my body and personality! How you are close to every being! Every moment is a clear white moment of the new world, with no past, without a future.

THE WHITE ASPECT is about pure, halo-like radiation. It does not force. It demands the doctrines of harmony already adopted and the fanaticism of ego already tamed. Only one single exertion, one forced step, one moment of hesitation, and the white brother stops being ”candidus”. For the genuinely white robe is never white because the one who wears it would fear to stain it and therefore shun something one would see as dirt, but because the inner light shines so bright that wherever one places his or her foothold, there already is the floor of the sanctum to support it. Even if a white adept would be born into the receptacle for cattle’s forage, his touch would change it to the chest of the sacred serpent. This is true tantra, the ability to purify with one’s own essence alone. Is it hard? Not only hard, but impossible before the core is wholly broken and transformed. That is why it has been said: ”Ye shall know them by their fruits”.

The one who has received the baptism of living water and has been able to bring it to everyday life walks as a stranger among the people. But unlike as on the gloomy graveyard path, one doesn’t feel to be separated from their lives; unlike as on the bloodied path of the cross, one’s hands are not bound from helping them. His hand that grasps no weapon, no quill nor a tool any longer, is like a blazing pentagram that holds and transmits the perfect self-awareness – the divine knowledge, for likewise it has been said: ”Ye are gods.” This joy can never vanish or turn to despair, for there is nothing reactive, nothing that would like to flee, and nothing not-immanent: it is earned and true state of one’s inner brightness.

In this way does a white brother see his mentor and guide, who is himself, his master, his god, and the presentation of the whole. He is Lucifer-Christos, and every man and woman who has gone through the first initiations to the higher attainments. Such a being dwells in one’s body as a bright heart of a flame in the lantern. May the lantern be covered with the stained glass, be it hidden or open, there is no doubt in or about him. This is the mystery we are following in the lodge of Lucifer.

My beloved serpentine Goddess! Arms, feet, and face pressed onto earth I can only join my hands to prayers; this elevation makes me mute. How much have you demanded from us, O Life, and how you do brighten us. One and twenty centuries is not enough for the weaving of your hymns, but we try, O Master, the magical flame, Lucifer! Never take your guidance from us. In the name of Love and Truth, be blessed forever you, who gave birth to Ofiomorfos our redeemer.

Individuality

Modern occultism and spirituality in general emphasize the idea that we’re living on the watershed. The old and the new age are at the crossroads and traditional schools have to face the new winds that often seem to contradict the old ways of spirituality. The old model of forcing individuals into certain mould and unilateral process might have been suitable ways of development in the past but they don’t work any more, as spiritual processes can no longer be at the mercy of such forcing and strictness as individual will holds the key role in the spiritual growth.

Nowadays people often have a habit of taking influences from here and there and feel the need to avoid being engaged only into one kind of tradition or spiritual community. Many times these people are criticised of ”spiritual shopping” or superficiality. Usually this criticism rises from persons attached to some special path of spiritual tradition that they feel is the right one for themselves, and hence should be for everyone else too. However, considering todays greater need for individuality, there lies a bigger danger in forcing oneself to assimilate into inconvenient spiritual groups and their habits, than taking one’s own way choosing the views and practises that serve one’s own purpose and abandon those that do not feel right. It might seem superficial to some but it allows a greater individual freedom.

In certain phases on the path it is essential not to be part of any spiritual society and only aspire toward individual and independent intelligence and insight. In my own case the phase was made even more remarkable by my experiences of different spiritual groups and societies that I tried to get in contact with, getting only little supportive results. Some reasons for this might have been my inability to find communion, my pride or other personal problem. Yet I believe it was only appropriate to end up to individual progress. I remember hearing from different people that enlightenment and spiritual development is impossible without a guru or master. Often it seemed these people themselves were willing to become spiritual mentors and tell others how enlightenment or whatever could be achieved. From many yoga and meditation groups I got impression that the followers of that certain path thought it was the only possible way to find anything I was searching. Some of the instructions I received from these groups were downright ridiculous or otherwise inessential. Usually the one thing common to them was that the instructions were given by some ”great master” and that’s why they should be followed. Of course it’s allowed to do that if that is one’s will. The problem is that it is easy to believe all the speech about the one right way if ones individuality and inner voice have not yet been developed enough. I believe that only after one’s own individuality is more developed it is possible to be part of any society without too much risk of doing something against yourself and your purpose.

Similar negative experiences, like mentioned above, are quite usual and they give hint of how some of the old and traditional ways might get too absolute and blind to the challenges of today. On the other hand it also helps some people find more personal ways of progress – for those who carry the flame of the new, more individual, luciferian time in their hearts will not stay within those narrow frames. And then the frames only become fuel for even greater flame to burn.

Stories of the White Fraternity: The Path – Part I

The first rays of morning rose up to the dale beyond the far away mountains, each one of them spreading into their own directions like they would have been following preordained paths by grand and unwritten pattern, and let their essence bless the anticipatory state which followed the night. The earth sighed and inhaled the first breath, letting the living light to wake it from it´s slumber and carry it´s wisdom through plants and trees which aroused, stretched out and raised their sight towards the source of that energy, like pointing to the center of the whole universe. At the fading shadows under the mountains the last words from the ancient songs which were meant only for the service of the Moon-Mother turned quieter, like whispers carried by the wind, and then vanished with the dark shapes which floated back to their hollows hidden within the depths of the earth, awaiting the great Mother to rise again back to the sky. As the light grew brighter the darkness found its place deep within the caverns, where it could serve its secret Master and immerse into the mysteries which were related to night and favored by the children of the Moon.

Closer to the center of this dale was a river, which carried fresh and pure water from the mountains, created when light and warmth transformed the essence of the water with their natural alchemy from the solid whiteness into the streaming and nourishing element. The earth had raised it´s arms slowly with pain towards the sky and now regained these sufferings as the white snow had finally blessed it. Now the mountains – even with all their past suffering – streamed the white wisdom down for those who had to view the stars from much further and did not see the world and the sky as widely as their secret fathers which examined this view from their thrones at the top of the highest mountain peak. And how majestic those mountains indeed were, when gazed towards from their roots, they stood like inexorable iron-bound guardians and protectors for this paradise-like dale which continued to blossom with the elixir of life flowing from the mountain walls carved by time and carrying the hidden knowledge and vivifying element, which was conjured in the highest towers of the temples where the sound of lightning striking through time and dimensions was received and heard as the primordial, strong and righteous – limitless rumble. And how great, magnificent and marvelous was the work which transformed the hardest and strongest force into a gently and peacefully streaming energy so each and every could get their part of this lightning. It was the work of the world blessed by the love of the invisible Masters, and accompanying into the silent and cordial prayer all the plants, trees, animals, men and all the living in this magical dale thanked their protectors.

This was the dawn blessed by divine alchemy and magic seen and felt by the old wayfarer watching towards east to the rising sun at the edge of a small hill, as the dale had now wholeheartedly blossomed to receive the vivifying stream and the bright new day. The old man laced his fingers together, smiled, pronounced few quiet preparing words, closed his eyes and began the prayer:

Te adoro, te invoco et peto Azazel, magister meus…”

After he had prayed and made the necessary arrangements to end the ceremony of dawn, the old man returned to his simple camp and sat in the front of a small fire. A small bowl was placed above it and a silvery ethereal smoke rose calmly from it, until a gentle wind carried it away and let a calming odour spread around the hill. The old man removed the bowl from the fire, let it cool down a bit and drank part of its content slowly. Then he rubbed a bit of the liquid to his skin at his forehead, chest and abdomen, and sprinkled rest of it to the four quarters along with a prayer and bowed to north, east, south and west. After this he collected the ashes left from creating the liquid, buried it with quiet prayer at the front of a natural white stone, collected rest of his equipment, packed his camp and proceeded onto the road which led to the verdant dale.

Welcome

Welcome, brother or sister!

In this blog we’ll present some texts which aim to help those interested in the philosophy of the Star of Azazel to become inspired by our ideas, or to just contemplate on them in one way or another.

Where the Book of Paths (Polkujen kirja) introduced emphasis for aspects which are not location-dependant, lodges are geographical operational centers of the brotherhood. Every lodge has its own spiritual field of operation. This means that within their dharma, every lodge also has a colour aspect. The colour of the Helsinki lodge is white.

Our emphasis on the White Aspect attaches us to the planetary ruler of Venus. As every occultist knows, this planet — which is also known as Lucifer or Eosphoros/Phosphorus — plays a particularly visible role in esoteric world view. Though the attempt to compress the multidimensional reality of Luciferian power and meaning into few lines would be ill-fated, I believe that by following the writings of this blog it is possible to get a glimpse of these possibilities; whether read from the lines or in-between. How this deity, externally attached to love, beauty and sexuality, finds the inner expressions of the fulfillment in magical creation and the transcendence of intellect into abstract reality, is something that only deep and empathetic work can verify.

Lucifer-Christos vobiscum!

Symbolism of the Lucifer Lodge: Rainbow and the Essence of Light

The article series dealing with the symbolism of the Star of Azazel, and specifically of the Lucifer Lodge, begins with a text contemplating the meanings of rainbow and light. These both have been addressed in many vivid contexts and they truly are important symbols in occultism, although their depth isn’t always fully understood.

The most common view is that the rainbow is the union between man and God; heaven and earth; man’s lower, personal constitution and the higher self. The unity of different elements can be seen in the rainbow as it is comprised of a projection of water and light (fire) as it ascends to the heavens when viewed from Earth. Rainbow is also Antahkarana, the rainbow bridge that leads man’s Luciferian intellect and self-awareness, Manas, to ever-higher divinity. And just like the rainbow, Antahkarana is unreachable through worldly manners and deeds. It eludes the one who tries to reach it through action, since it can only be approached through spiritual efforts.

The seven foundational rays and colours of humanity are visible in the rainbow. They emanate from the original light and energy, manifesting just like they do in the human chakra system. However, when viewed from Earth, the colours appear upside-down when compared to the chakra system, in which they traditionally begin from the bottom with red and up to purple. However, this is not the case when viewed from above, as rainbow then appears as a circle with its colours forming a halo; the inmost colour being purple and the outmost being red. This expresses the inner connection of physical and less-physical both in man and the macrocosm: the dense parts settle in the outer ring and the less-physical in the middle. Outside of these two observable extremes is a spectrum of manifestations invisible to man: the physical end, which can’t be consciously reached by senses in their normal state, and the invisible reaches of spirituality. Each of these and everything in between exist on the same spectre, even though it isn’t visible to the naked eye. Whiteness and light shine to the universe in every one of these shades, radiating every colour out of itself while keeping darkness, the unmanifested spiritual perfection, at its core.

Traditionally, rainbow has also been interpreted as the thunder god’s (e.g. Jupiter, Indra, Ukko) bow. Also, just as noted earlier, rainbow is the bridge of Venus-Lucifer, Manas, the purest self-awareness to reach towards the middle point, the mutual source of existence of every living being. This duality, in the sense of energy reaching from the center to the outer circles, can also be seen as Jupiter’s or Indra’s lightning, vajra, which electrifies and puts physical matter in motion. While rainbow can be seen as energy traversing in two directions, vajra also shares this duality: in addition to the lightning, it also is a diamond, man’s solid, divine self and consciousness. It is Manas, which like a diamond, cuts through everything, but is so dense itself that it cannot be cut or divided. It’s the crown that Lucifer sets on the rainbow, the power he has given to us; misinterpreted as a fall, and more correctly seen as lightning flashing from the sky toward earth.

What should be determined from all this? The rainbow symbolizes the oneness of everything manifested and unmanifested. It expresses every one of the rays both together and separated, and especially those which are important to human life, even though it’s only a fraction of everything that exist. They are levels in which the consciousness can traverse, and from which everything is manifestable by it for any period of time. None of these shades is in the wrong place. They’re all in harmonic order. Only through misguided action can we abandon one of its aspects, just like we’ve witnessed with misguided religions and our own misguided actions in the past and present. Still, this wholeness is available and examinable to us, limited only by our capability to comprehend our possibilities towards it. We do not embody just one of those rays. In actuality, the one ray we radiate outward includes the others, which we, for one reason or another, haven’t chosen to emphasize at the moment. This is the reason we can also say that light, the oneness and source of all colours, envelopes darkness, and that darkness, too, contains only the most perfect light of all.
