Lucifer of Liége

Post by Ormr »

I am not particularly versed in classical visual art, particularly sculpting, so forgive me if this one is extremely common.. but I found this piece interesting, and in a way, a bit heartbreaking. It displays Lucifer as a Prometheus figure, and I find the details to outline a betrayal by the heavens.

The commentary in the article is more in-depth and eloquent than I could ever be on such a subject. I hope some of you find it as interesting as I did.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. Actually couple of years ago I heard that my fathers family originates around Liege 400 years ago. Now I really must visit the city sometimes and meet grandpa Lucifer ;) and such an interesting timing that RZ is so on going to the same place.
