Some late night thoughts.

Renunciation

No hope, no fear
Lets kill everyone
Or lets not kill anyone
I choose the latter

A wandering ascetic
A spiritual vagabond
A cabin in the woods
Or a homeland in the Idea

Individualistic spiritual anarchy
Absolute counter-culture
Negation of a negation
In the falling world of 19th century ideals
I have no homeland anymore

A war rages everywhere
A technological super-slavery
Deus ex machina, Man against the machine
I will have nothing to do with it

I renounce my inheritance
I renounce bourgeous ideals
I renounce petty pleasures
Wholeheartedly I renounce it all

I translated another of my poems and thought it turned out pretty nice. It only vaguely resembles the original, but that text is so heavily based on phonetic features of certain Finnish words that a more literal translation would probably have sounded very clumsy. Working in a different language naturally alters not only how one sounds or what connotations one brings into the poem, but what one ends up wanting to say.

*

so it only took a decade
for us to become trash people

our freedom smells like a compost, now
the shabby freedom of forgotten things

saving our food from money, holding
each other’s filthy hands,

giving up aspirations of being someone
to take what is wanted by no-one

look! the worn-out moon is like a bottle cap
it watches us learn new techniques of slacking,

watches our conspicuous consumption
of precious time, lavish voids of nights

spent picking half-rotten roses,
flirting with decay and imagining futures

built out of the present’s dirt
Tiden läker inga sår.

Anomie (Liberty)

I profess liberty from the inane law
I am one of the light bearer's sacred vein
There will be a new era of enlightened way of being
That does not shun the darkness of this world

I am one of libertys mighty sons
I am the law that I have set upon myself
I care not about the ways of men
Set to constraint the lion and the eagle

A new era of complete freedom shines upon us
A liberty that shuns not the inner constraint
When liberty and liberation don't exclude each other
The new era of the Artist will certainly arise

Anomie – I accept none of your scriptural designs
Anomie – I am more than your petty superman
Anomie – the marriage of heaven and hell
Anomie – In the true spirit of poverty I reign
Anomie – I seek no authority beyond the internal law
Anomie – I seek not heaven nor do I fear hell
Anomie – what exactly for are your external ways
Anomie – I accept none of your petty restraints

”In the guise of darkness I approach you
To test whether you are one of wisdom's daughters
I give you power over your little self
In order to witness the ultimate ascension”

Seek the internal law – beyond the laws of men
Go beyond yourself to witness the holy reign of angels
This is the only law – be true to your Self
Go beyond the social constraints and the weakness of man

We are Gods – there is no God to judge us
Set your sails to the unknown land of immortals
Be your own Master – This is the final word of liberty
Forget about the codifications of the religious tyrants

Anomie – a clarion call to the ones of his essence
Nothing truly prevents us of witnessing and seeing
Anomie – a way to see beyond external forms
Only a very thin veil separates us from true Being

When all things holy have fallen
Truly I will be judged by ignorants
To be of the devil's countenance
When only truthfulness to my own being
Makes me one of his very own

Sorry for this kind of double posting, but my last one evolved into a little bit more directions in the center and the end. This is how my poetry evolves when I hear the song in a demo format again and again and practice for Thurdsay, when we are going to record this song here in Himingbjörg. At last some musical action!

Liberty – such a cruel Goddess!
You preach to the paupers and sing to the slaves
You sit at the banquet of Kings and wipe out Empires to dust
Only a fool sees in you unbridled anarchy and lawlessness

When all things holy have fallen
Truly I will be jugded by ignorants
To be of the devil's countenance
When only truthfulness to my own being
Makes me one of his very own

Thank you both for always being so open to share your poetry with us. I very much enjoy reading it :D

On this Equinox this ever popular poem by Robert Frost really resonates with me, and not just on the Equinox, but every day as I try to unite my hands down a path not taken by the majority.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I have been reading a very pleasurable book Meetings with Remarkable Trees by Thomas Pakenham. When writing about the great beeches of Westmeath, Pakenham cites The Garden by Andrew Marvell:

"No white nor red was ever seen
So am'rous as this lovely green.
Fond lovers, cruel as their Flame,
Cut in these Trees their Mistress name.
Little, Alas, they know or heed,
How far these beauties her exceed!
Fair trees! Where s'eer your barkes I wound,
No name shall but your own be found."

This was very interesting find because both of my love for deciduous trees, challenges in love, and what I have lately learned from Zohar: How our Azazelian trinity of White-Red-Black is White-Red-Green in Qabbala. (The often emerging East-West difference of the Saturn & Venus' Black versus Green esoteric correspondence comes to mind.)

This made me search in my Metaphysical Poetry collection for the whole The Garden. Especially the fifth stanza makes me smile:

"What wondrous life is this I lead!
Ripe apples drop about my head;
The luscious clusters of the vine
Upon my mouth do crush their wine;
The nectarine and curious peach
Into my hands themselves do reach.
Stumbling on melons, as I pass,
Ensnared with flow'rs, I fall on grass."
Faust: "Lo contempla. / Ei muove in tortuosa spire / e s'avvicina lento alla nostra volta. / Oh! se non erro, / orme di foco imprime al suol!"

Just glanced The Songs of MIlarepa from my library for the first time in many years, and this came up:

"This black stag upon my right hand adorned with conch-white antlers,
if I slay it, will satisfy my appetite for seven days.
This which I mortal need not, I offer, O teacher.

I pray thee lead this black stag into the way of great bliss;
this bitch Red Lightning into the way of enlightenment;
and Gonpodorje into way of liberation.

This bitch Red Lightning on my left hand,
if I loose it, will catch even the fowls of the air.
This which I the mortal need not, I offer, O teacher.

This black lasso adorned with a ring at the end,
if I use it, will capture even the yak from the north."

Made me think of the mortification and vivification process at the same time for some reason. Also the Bitch red Lightning on his left hand could refer to an esoteric inversion of the Vajra force in its aspect of the Red King.

Glorification

The highest angel of God
Has succumbed to the lower worlds
In order to set man to the path of righteousness
By giving him the black light of the intellect

A serpentine tempter of Eve
You set the world in motion
Uncreated Light from the bosoms of Pleroma
You are humanity's inner guide

Glorification to the angel of the Lord!
Terrifying is the name of Satan

Daemonic cruelty for external eyes
Gentleness of Christ for the internal heart
You set me straight when I look into my soul
You grow in me into a god when I am pure of heart

You let me fall if I will what is untrue
Experience teaches your inner workings
A soul longing for enlightenment
Will be rectified by your grace

Glorification to the great prince of darkness!
Holy is the name of Satan

Fathers days

I put a goun on
for you, daddy
I'm as ugly as always
Even the blondie, chit-chatty girl said so
Would you prefer her?
I waited last night
for you
Impatient, my blood
As you kept we waiting
I think of murders and stuff
the bones of the Dead
and the clockety clock went tickety tock
and daddy,
what it taking you so long!
My skin
is wearing off
If you want to reborn, let yourself die.
