I liked Seaking for this same reason. It's also a great song by Hawkwind. I can just picture a totally Spinal Tap music video about Seaking's awesome badness every time I hear this song. Squirtle was a second favourite just because of his name - squirrel turtle - which was a concept I found (and still find) hilarious for some reason.
Both water type pokemon. Funny that you are so fascinated by the element of water, and have even written quite lengthy studies in regards to Old Norse myths and the aspect of water & waves therein.

The occult course of our lives was clearly pre-destined :ugeek:

I also liked Magikarp because it's so useless and then awesome, and I would have Magikarp as my pokemon of choice when entering battle, after which I would instantly swap to Bulbasaur, who would take the first hit. My bulbasaur was so overpowered though that it could usually one-hit my enemies, so it was a good way to level up the more weaker pokemons.

One might say so. But since there is no aspect of life that does not belong to the holistic study of occultism, I can see the need, nay, necessity of this discussion.

Besides, Pokemon is quite a good metaphor, for children and us children-minded, of the life of an actual magician. Accumulation of power through challenge, symbiosis & evolution of thus befriended goetic spirits is what the Work on physical level is all about.

What we would next need is thus naturally a more theurgically minded Pokemon game, where the trainer himself is caught into an auric pokeball and made to evolve by the egregious ultra-pokemons, dhyan-chohanic legendary pokemons, or the pokedêvas.

It's diglett. Because he's so absurd, and so explicitly phallic. And I love moles, those little Saturnine beasts. Also, when I bought the trading card game packs for my little sister & myself when the boom was just starting, I yielded to take the lamest-looking pokemons to let her have most of the cool ones. Soon it turned out that in the game the uncool diglett was a juggernaut of death, being able to withdraw from the field to the reserve without cost - great for my cautious style of playing -, and was able to strike hard with his deadly mudslap.

Don't let me even start with Team Rocket from the first TV series. Now where's charm if not there? Part of the poor drowning magikarp is forever etched into my memory, where most important things slide off instantly.

Not surprised you should say this :)

I've never tried the trading card game, just the strangely fast paced emulator version of the gameboy. I think that the reason I enjoyed Bulbasaur so much because he always seemed to have so much attitude; always ready for battle, always determined and somehow honorable, whereas I disliked Pikachu because it was a unruly and annoying little git. Also, Bulbasaur is half-beast, half-plant, and these kind of "in between" stages fascinate me greatly. And then there's that he also resembles a toad. A earth element also closest to my heart, and I like the colour green.

Come to think of it, the pokemon I liked the least all seem to represent temperaments or characteristics which I dislike. Like Snorlax, who was just sleeping; I can't stand lazy people.

For me, a memorable moment in the original series was the sentence "Telekinesis is required!" which I think related somehow to Abra, another fascinating hybrid who was about the kick Pikachu's butt.

My first pokemon was Squirtle. Liked that one too. Thought back then that those big cannons on Blastoise were so awesome that I did not see any other option than go with Squirtle :D

About the elements I found a bit funny that when I was younger, I liked water as a element, winter, ice, silver, disliked summer etc anything like that, but nowadays summer is my favorite season,
love warmth like a cat and as a element I see fire more interesting. Recently also started to have a odd fascination towards red clothing.
I've never before used any red clothes with free will and now I try to see if there's a red version available about anything.
Might be some weird phase - dunno.

I repeat, the occult course of our lives is clearly pre-destined. :ugeek: :ugeek:

So it seems as the Norns have woven their web :)

That trading card game was really serious business. Sometimes the game ended to fistfight and took few days that we spoke to each other with my friends :D
It was so great feeling when you won with element which should logically lose the battle.

I was crying but this conversation cheered me up :D
I remember well the morning when me and my little sister saw the very first pokemon in TV. We had never heard it before but we started immediately to play pokemon with ourselves. During maybe ten years we created together new pokemon characters, their trainers and worlds of our own, games and stories... My brother had Gameboy and Pokemon games, but we weren't allowed to save the game. It did not bothered me or prevent from playing though. The card game we played but didn't change cards with others.
I have so many favourite pokemons... one was gyarados, because it was big & strong, hard to raise from magikarp, and it had to be treaten gently in order to make it obey. Elecrtic, fire, ghost and psychic pokemon I liked. That spoon of kadabra... :D

Interesting topic. Even I have played Pokemon younger, and I don't usually am a big fan of electronical games. My favourite Pokemon was definitely Jynx because there were so few ice Pokemon so Jynx felt kinda special. It also has the aura a true witch! Other Pokes I liked much: Golem, Gastly, Magmar, Hypno and Exeggcutor. And perhaps Magnemite and Magneton too, because they are fascinating in their inhumanness and machine-like appearance. :) For some reason I liked self-destructive attacks in the game. :D

I thought about this topic a bit more and came to the conclusion that I actually like Pikachu a lot. As I mentioned, I got into this franchise through Super Smash Bros, so my experiences strictly limit to this medium. The appearance of Pikachu pleases me because of the bright colour (yellow) and because he (or she?) look slightly like a cat. Also, the fiery of his electrical nature appeals to me, temper-wise..

Hm, gastly (lazy unevolved malicious prankster with hypnosis and confuse ray!) or kadabra (moustache and psychic skills wohoo)
