I'm listening to new Odious Devotion mini album Consecration into which I made the lyrics of the second song and sang them. (One can find the lyrics of Anomie (Liberty) from the poetry section.)

My brother recommended to me His Divine Grace. He said that if one likes Arcana or Raison d'Etre one will probably like this also. Quite minimalistic for starters!

I'm often amazed how much there is this sort of neofolk or neoclassical music out there. It's almost too much, but thank you for sharing.

Been listening to surprisingly lot of metal these past few days. The new old Isengard record I've liked quite a bit. Also coming back again and again on my favourite of the recent years, that is devotional Christian choral works.

Same here. I have listened a lot of Children of Bodom lately, of all things.

It was horribly too minimalistic to my senses, I couldn't stand any of it. It didn't really remind me of Arcana nor Raison d'etre.

It may be a few years since I've mentioned Troum. One of my all-time favorites. Sort of analog shaman industrial, done without computers, from Bremen, Germany. There's only one Troum. They did two pretty good collabs with Raison D'etre also.

So here's they're their album Aiws, from 2007.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpHfN05VmS8

I rather like minimalistic presentations. Listening to the song for a second time it reminds me very strongly of one Arvo Pärt piece I can't remember the name of right now. There's choir joining to a very similar melody there, which brings to it a bit more direction to the composition. Perhaps it's a phallic direction that sometimes seems like missing in minimalism that builds more on repetition than delicate variations that are rather building towards transformation.

Minimalistic music like this might go well as background music but otherwise I'm far too impatient for it and usually demand more action from music that I listen.

I've been stuck on my yodelling kick for awhile now, but this week I took a break to soothe my soul with some Leonard Cohen en masse.

His words mean so much to me that I love listening to other artists singing them as well. I may have posted this already at some point, but this cover of Who By Fire by Coil is still one of my favourite covers of all time and definitely my favourite Cohen cover.

And I adore this performance of Dance Me to the End of Love

I'm not finding much joy in metal this month, save for this track by Urfaust which is on regular rotation for me. It's a nice change from the usual sounds of chaos and I love the usage of the clean vocals on top of the cacophony.

I've been fancying myself with Aborym's Roma Divina Urbs. Musically and lyrically it is a masterpiece, even if one would not subscribe to the view presented in toto.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRoeE-k ... rt_radio=1

Standing near the great river
The italic Goddess of Death will press
The white father will be taken and imprisoned
Castle and palace will burn

The reign will last six thousand years
Then it shall be destroyed
Two thousands years were vain, two thousands years were law
And two thousands will be malignant

Roma Divina Urbs - you'll be the light for us
Roma Divina Urbs - your sign we always await

Here we'll receive the king-destroyer, the Antichrist
Satan will free from stumps, 'cause one thousand years were completed
In your vales we'll raise the throne, to your honour we'll fight
Moist with myrtles, laurels and big beeches you will rise again

Roma Divina Urbs - cage of the hateful bird
Roma Divina Urbs - den of every impure spirits

You are the Hunger - brought by the starvings
We are the devourers - and mean is our presence
You are the naked death - soaked in the human soul
Reflected like the moon - dying in the oceans

Here will shine the cult of Mithra
The ancient knowledge of the great wiseman
The cult of the sun will become yours again
O Magna Mater, in your honor the virgins will bleed

After the seven doors, the Solemn Agape... the fleshes...

Fortuna....
accendi il tuo viso di furia guerriera
S'innalzino palazzi dorati che raggiungano il cielo
Si rubi l'acqua ai fiumi
trasformando in mare quel ch'era terra
e si rovesci l'ordine della natura
infragendo ogni legge
