Deicide

Their "Once Upon a Cross" was a very important album for me when I was young, and I still remember some of its lyrics by heart. It is definately on my top ten list of best death metal albums.

For my 22nd birthday, I decided to treat myself to as many Deicide albums as I could afford. Serpents of the Light, Once Upon the Cross, and Scars of the Crucifix didn't leave my rotation for some time. And one of my albums came with a Glen Benton for president patch which I never did get around to sewing on anything

I've been listening to alot of Dan Swano this week (fan girl) in the form of Edge of Sanity's Crimson I and II and a couple Nightingale albums. Such different projects, but I love them both.

Lately I've listened alot of the ambient Burzum tracks from different albums. Dauði Baldrs is a bit all over the place for my taste, but the track Hermoðr á Helferð has such a lovely melody going on and that's what I'm listening now. Sounds like a medieval painting or carving - a bit clumsy but saturated strongly with wonder, myth and meaning.

Burzum has been a stable listening here also, and I have listened to the ambient albums as well as especially Hvis lyset Tar Oss (or in Finnish, Pliis Myy Se Tai Osta).
