In July 7 2021 the Star of Azazel celebrated its fifteenth birthday as a society. Have a great summer, all our fratres, sorores, sodales, and guests interested in these sublime dharmas!

"Today in the presence of all the Protectors
I invite the world to be guests
At a festival of temporal and ultimate delight,
May gods, anti-gods and all be joyful."

– Bodhisattvacharyavatara, 3:34 (A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life, transl. Stephen Batchelor)

Today's thought

In case someone decides to take a Path / follow Dao where you try to combine everything from Azazel to Babylon to Christianity to Dharmas to Economics and Engineering... Can't recommend to anyone! However, someone will do anyways.

It can feel a long time like you speak all the languages, but your vocabulary is only ten words per tongue.

;)

Carry on.

Concerning the freedom of will conversation, it brought to my mind Nietzsche.

"Freedom is the will to be responsible for ourselves."

"Solitude/loneliness is possible only for a creature that is connected to others."
This came to mind in context that I first misread the topic to be "Quotations relevant to the Left-Hand-Path"

Original quote was in finnish (Jukka Laajarinne: Muumit ja olemisen arvoitus), 'yksinäisyys' can mean both but was refered to Snufkin and a scenario where hes solitude was disturbed, so in original context it deffinately means solitude. Decided to put it like this anyway because both interpretations are true yet very different.

"Because the same One, who is begotten and born of God the Father, without ceasing in eternity, is born today, in this time, within time, in human nature, and we make a holiday to celebrate it. This birth is always happening. And yet, if it does not occur in me, how could it help me? Everything depends on that."

- Meister Eckhart

"And she danced, like the spin of a desert whirlwind, like the leaping of a quenchless flame, like the urge of creation and the urge of death. Her white feet spurned the blood-stained deck and dying men forgot death as they gazed frozen at her."

"The Chinvat Bridge, the bridge of selection, is now behind us. We didn't involuntarily fall from it as a result of some outer force. We happily made the choice, jumping away from the falseness of orthodoxy, and are now finding ourselves before the gates of Hell. We must bravely enter remembering that once we open the black gates there is no coming back to the world as we know it."

The key to all mysteries and the source of all illumination lies deep within the self.
