What does the Star of Azazel think about...
...faith?
Faith (or belief) is a dangerous tool to be used as a guideline of ones practical life,
no matter what the object and the way of the particular faith is.
The Star of Azazel does not require of its members any kind of un-questioned faith,
on the contrary we seriously urge everyone to aspire for a world view as cognitive as possible.
From our point of view all things - including mysticism and occultism - are such,
that they ought to be approached first and foremost rationally, although
neither one cannot be limited to rationalization.
...of scientific thought?
Scientific thinking is supportable, and we value it greatly.
In modern times though science is seen implicitly to be connected into a materialistic, empirical premises,
and is characterized by a certain appaling of metaphysics.
We do not think this kind of an sense-centred and sense based logic to be a very elaborate form of research,
and we do not accept the way, with which the standards of modern science have been inconspicuously dogmatised.
Furthermore, aesthetics and ethics should be joined into the scientific thought far more than nowadays,
because without them science will remain as a completely unilateral way,
and will cause more problems than it does in helping to remove the old ones.
...of God?
The philosophy of the Star of Azazel regards the existence of an Absolute Godhead,
as well as the existence of lesser divine beings/archetypes/essences as an intellectually verified fact.
However, we do not believe into the Judeo-Christian Jehova, into Islamic Allah, or into other "personal yet omnipotent" gods.
...of Satan?
Satan can mean many different things, and we see many different of them being true.
We refer this name usually to represent a high-ranking divinity, who/that is connected into lofty spiritual accomplishments,
and whom/that we greatly respect.
We do not believe into some kind of an "absolutely evil" god who would be always in opposition,
as we do not consider this kind of an essence being possible in a universe governed by profound meaning and the laws of necessity.
...criminal activity?
We do not accept violence, and as a community we can not and do not accept any kind of behaviour forbidden by the laws of society.
This does not mean however, that we would feel the modern society being a perfect social context,
and man made laws being binding as a meaning in themselves.
In our own home country they reflect as accurately as possible natures own laws, in order to be followed for the good of both individuals and communities.
...of political trends?
Our community is completely a-political, and political addresses are not allowed inside our society (see also the text Azazel and Politics).
The same thing is applicable also for the racial question.
...other Satanic / Occult / Theosophical societies?
If we would have felt the essential question of modern times having being completely answered in some already established society,
there would not have been a need to form our own. On the other hand, as truth in its basics is One and unchangeable, and only its forms of manifestation
can and do vary, we uphold and value all societies established seriously and with the right intention;
especially the ones that regard the great occult re-newer Madame Helena Blavatsky as their authority.
It is still far too early for all the occult schools to be joined together under a one unifying title.
Although this kind of development and especially a willingness to this kind of "syncretism" should be seen as one of our aims and goals,
societies representing different aspects of the same truth should be seen as a necessary thing for the time being.
It is naturally very essential to keep the core of differently diversified and characterized societies as pure and unified as possible.
